Alloy Barrier Sand Screen / Gravel Pack Isolation (Well Intervention)
Molten alloy can flow though and seal off sand screens and gravel packs, to enhance production or restore well integrity.
Alloy can be deployed through sand screens or into gravel packs, flowing into pore spaces and setting as a solid barrier. Alloy sealing technology offers a versatile method for selective isolation in wells with unwanted water or gas ingress. Upon solidification, the alloy forms a high-integrity seal that conforms to complex geometries, effectively blocking crossflow or production from undesired zones. When future access is needed, the alloy plug inside the tubing can be mechanically drilled out, allowing full re-establishment of production from the lower completion while leaving the isolation barrier in place.
